Individual Arrested In Texas Following His Involvement Of Stealing Alcohol
One man in the state of Texas has been placed into Texas Jail after it was found he was participating in a nearly half a year scheme. Here's what is known at the time of writing.
When Did The Scheme Begin?
According to info provided by Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission and reported by FOX 7 Austin, the organization was alerted to a situation that begun in July of 2024. Agents from the group learned that liquor en route to its destination disappeared.
This in turn, causing inquires to begin on where the alcohol vanished to. FOX 7 revealed that the Federal Bureau of Investigations, the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Travis County Sheriff’s Office were able to help TABC find the missing alcohol. It was located in Dallas, but the question remained as to who, or whom, trying to steal it.

How Did The TABC Locate Their Suspect?
TABC, after finding the alcohol, then proceeded with inquires to bring whoever stole the liquor to justice. Eventually, findings lead them to Matthew Tafolla. The 37 year old was found to be the one that absconded with the item. Per FOX 7, he was taken to a prison in Hildalgo County.
He was charged with theft of cargo, classified as a second degree felony. However, work still remains. There were many thefts in the previous year that still need answer in terms of who did it.
What TABC Think Of The Arrest Of Matthew Tafolla?
In a statement, Kevin J. Lilly, TABC Chariman said the following:
"Theft of alcohol inventory not only hurts the affected business, It also hurts the people of Texas who are put at risk by the unregulated sales of these products on the black market...This week’s arrest is a major step forward in this ongoing case, and TABC will continue working tirelessly on this investigation until the involved parties are held accountable."
As this is developing story, we will have more information when it becomes available.
