It's not exactly Christmas in July, but an upcoming golf tournament will help Temple police put smiles on kids' faces this holiday season, and you could help make that happen.

Temple PD's Community Oriented Policing Services unit (C.O.P.S.), along with alumni from the Citizen’s Police Academy of Temple (CPAT), will be hosting their 1st Annual Blue Santa Golf Tournament on July 20th at Sammons Golf Links in Temple. The tournament will start at 7:00 AM.

Teams of up to four are invited to sign up for a friendly game to benefit the C.O.P.S. Blue Santa Program, which provides gifts and some essentials to kids and their families in need during the Christmas season.

The entry fee is $300, and there'll be a prize for the 1st place team as well as two randomly drawn teams. Other events include a helicopter ball drop and a raffle, with tickets going for $25.

Slots are open, so register your team today. Get in touch with Cpl. Joseph Dimento at jdimento@templetx.gov, or call (254) 931-0495 to register.
