Aw, c'mon! This is just a wrong beyond wrong.

Waco police say they've got an arrest warrant for an Angel Tree volunteer believed to have stolen a donated Christmas gift to exchange it and get cash to treat her own family.

John Carroll with our partners at News 10 reports that warrant charges Class A misdemeanor theft. (I guess 0 Class Grinching isn't officially a crime.)

Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton told Carroll the department has talked to the woman's attorney about turning herself in, and that she's expected to do it soon.

Swanton said it appears the woman acted alone, and there's no indication that Angel Tree organizers were involved.

Angel Tree does a great service to kids who have a parent in prison. Prison Fellowship allows the parent to make a wish list for their kids. The toys they list are written on decorative angels and hung on Christmas trees at stores, and people who want to spread some Christmas joy choose and angel and buy that gift for the child.

Sounds great, right? It hurts my heart that someone would (allegedly) cheat such a beautiful program that does things for families of inmates in need year-round.

You're a mean one, Mrs. Grinch.
