Good Times Star Ja’net Dubois Dead At 74
Sad news to pass along to you on this Tuesday. Ja'Net Dubois, well known as the sassy and stylish neighbor Willona Woods on the 70's sitcom "Good Times", has died.
According to TMZ, Ja'net died unexpectedly in her sleep overnight at her home in Glendale, CA. Her cause of death remains unknown at this time.
Dubois is best known for Good Times, but she was also an important part of another iconic TV sitcom: "The Jeffersons". Dubois composed and sang the theme song, "Movin' On Up".
Ja'net's acting career began on Broadway, where she was cast in a number of plays including "Golden Boy" with Sammy Davis Jr. and Louis Gossett Jr. plus "A Raisin In The Sun." She also appeared in several movies throughout the years including "I'm Gonna Git You Sucka", "Tropic Thunder" and "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle". She also won 2 Emmys for her voice work on the animated sitcom "The PJ's".
Most recently, Dubois made an appearance on ABC's "Live in Front of a Studio Audience: 'All in the Family' and 'Good Times' with her Good Times cast mates Bern Nadette Stanis and J.J. Walker.
Ja'net is survived by her children, two daughters and a son.
