Viola Davis, Tiffany Haddish Star In Live Good Times Episode

Remember back in April when ABC presented the special "Live In Front Of A Studio Audience: Norman Lear’s ‘All In The Family’ and ‘The Jeffersons" which featured live recreations of classic episodes of those shows? It was a ratings success and they are doing it again tonight this time with Good Times!

Everyone was pleased with the casting selections of the first run and folks have been wondering who would get cast in the roles of "The Evans Family" and we now know who:

Viola Davis - Florida Evans
Academy and Emmy Award winner Viola Davis will take on the role of The Evans Family matriarch Florida Evans. (GREAT choice!)

Andre Braugher - James Evans
Another great choice was Emmy winner Andre Braugher set to play father James Evans in the live episode. Braugher has appeared in tv shows "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" and "Homicide: Life On The Street", I can definitely see him covering the hard and firm James.

Jay Pharoah - J.J. Evans
Comedian and impressionist Jay Pharoah will be yelling "DY-NO-MITE" as J.J. Evans in the special episode.

Tiffany Haddish - Wilona Woods
She's ready to play the fabulous, nosy and gossipy neighbor Wilona Woods! Comedian Tiffany Haddish will play the role that's perfect for her!

Filling out the cast, Asante Blackk will play Michael Evans, Corinne Foxx will play Thelma Evans and in a fun twist, Anthony Anderson and Patti LaBelle have been tapped to sing the theme song to “Good Times.”

You can also expect to see a live episode of "All In the Family" with Woody Harrelson, Marisa Tomei, Ellie Kemper and Ike Barinholtz set to reprise their roles as Archie and Edith Bunker, Gloria Stivic, and Meathead from the first edition of the special.
