Yes, The Liquor Store Is An Essential Business In Texas
One thing I pointed out about the COVID-19 pandemic is the fact that its going to be pretty hard to "flatten the curve" when nearly EVERYBODY is all of sudden considered "essential" and still have to go out and go to work.
Many of you are working from home and earning paycheck which is a blessing in itself, but before I move on, I want to take a moment and say that our thoughts are with those folks who jobs didn't deem them "essential" and are currently unemployed. We hope you find a way back to work soon as we all continue to deal with the effects of this pandemic.
Now as we are starting to learn, some businesses are going to be deemed "essential" and others no so much. For example, I've seen lots of folks asking "why are liquor stores allowed to stay open and are considered essential?". Ladies and gentleman, I have to say that YES they ARE essential and here's why.
You may be cooped up in the house for several days dealing with family and hearing around the clock bad news about this pandemic. You may be forced to go out into stores dealing with GREEDY Americans hoarding up regular every day supplies. You may have to CONSTANTLY clean and disinfect your spaces every day at work as well as practice social distancing.
After dealing with ALL THAT plus the uncertainty of our future, YOU NEED A DRINK. Even if you don't drink. So I hope that clears this up for you.
Go get a bottle and sip responsibly, then get your butt back in the house and STAY THERE.
