The Texas State Fair Has Been Canceled for 2020

You kinda knew this was coming, right?

Every concert and festival, basically every huge public event, got canceled for 2020.

Now a Texas tradition will sadly feel the wrath of this nasty virus too.

The two million people that frequent the festival will have to stay home this year.

Jena Norris, Board chair in a written statement said:

"This was an extremely tough decision, the health, and safety of all involved has remained our top priority throughout the decision-making process while we cannot predict what the COVID-19 pandemic will look like in September, the recent surge in positive cases is troubling for all of North Texas it will resume September 24 through October 17 of 2021"

A decision from the NCAA would have to be made in terms of football games being played at the Cotton Bowl, home to the Red River Showdown with the University of Texas against the University of Oklahoma and the State Fair Classic.
