Everybody needs a place to live, no matter where they are in the United States. Some of us live in an apartment, or perhaps rent something while looking for our new home. Safe to say, when we find that perfect home, we want it to be ours as soon as possible.

In the state of Texas, there are plenty of houses available to new or current Texans. Some could be very small, or very big. Of course, the price also comes into play as well. Prices in the can get pretty high too.

For the state of Texas, there are homes over $1 million available to buyers. But how many were actually sold in the previous year?

Was There A Growth Of Homes Over $1 Million Being Sold In Texas?

To find out the answer, we look at data collected by the aptly named the Texas Sales of Million-Dollar Homes Report as revealed by the Dallas Business Journal. The time frame examined was from November 2023 to October 2024. The amount of homes sold over $1 Million surpassed 12,000.

Further data showed that the homes weren't on the market as long as you'd expect. Overall, 68 days was the average time that the homes were available to be bought. But where were these homes available for one to buy?

Where Did These $1 Million Dollar Homes Mostly Come From In The State?

A staggering 90% of the were found in Austin, Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio. These are the four most sizable metro areas in the state. So, looks like we've got some new rich neighbors in the state!
