A Waco Liquor Store’s Revenue Is Under Threat After Canada’s Ban
According to KXXV, a Waco liquor store owner is concerned about losing Canadian imports after President Donald Trump proposed a ban on Canadian alcohol. The announcement, made last week, outlined potential tariffs and bans on Canadian exports, including alcohol, motorcycles, and dairy products. The move follows Canada’s retaliatory tariffs targeting roughly $20 billion in U.S. goods. If fully implemented, the restriction would ban Canadian spirits, beer, wine, and other beverages.

Nilesh Valappil, owner of 18th Street Liquor, stated that the policy poses a serious threat to his business. "It will affect the bottom line," Valappil noted, explaining that inventory is already growing scarce. "Last week, I ordered like three cases, and we didn't get any. We're supposed to get some more today, keeping fingers crossed. I hope things change around, and hopefully, we'll be able to go back to normal, how it was before."
