Have a son or daughter interested in going into Cosmetology?

They may have to wait until after they graduate from high school to take classes for it.

The Texas Tribune reports that the Texas Education Agency proved that courses in barbering, makeup, hairdressing, and skincare lead to students making between $21,000 and $30,000 average salary, which falls below the new CTE (Career Technical Education) target of $35,000.

If you are in the cosmetology industry and you are reading this, you probably do it a side hustle or have built a big enough clientele to make a great living.

This may be an argument you have when this decision is made because the data collected isn't taking into consideration the true lifestyle of someone in the field.

Texas Education Commissioner Mike Morath is expected to make a decision in early 2019.

If you're concerned about the decision, you can find Morath's contact info here.
