Details Emerge After Former Temple ISD Sub Charged With Sexual Assault

Keara Michelle Brady, a former substitute teacher at the Temple Independent School District, has found herself in a very disturbing position. According to KCENT, Brady has been charged with four counts of an inappropriate relationship between an educator and a student, as well as two counts of sexual assault of a child, according to an arrest affidavit. Although the warrant was issued by a judge in Bell County, Brady was not arrested in Central Texas; she was located and taken into custody by the San Antonio Police Department.

What Account Was Brady Using?

The affidavit alleges that Brady sexually assaulted at least four students on or around April 14. It also states that she had an inappropriate relationship with a 17-year-old student, supported by screenshots of social media messages that investigators described as sexual in nature. Investigators suggest that Brady had been sharing messages under an account named "Alonso." However, the phone number associated with that account belonged to the mother of a 16-year-old student who also attended Temple High School.

What Did The 16-Year-Old Have To Say About Brady?

When officials spoke to that 16-year-old student, he admitted to having a sexual relationship with Brady, noting that she had substituted for one of his classes and that they had shared Snapchat and Instagram account information. The student was also able to name other male students who had allegedly slept with the substitute teacher. This is beyond disturbing. It highlights why it is so important for parents to not only have open conversations with their children, but also to understand that predators can be anywhere. It is not always an old, creepy man in a van; sometimes, it is a female school teacher.

What Did The Statement From The District Say?

In a statement released by the Temple Independent School District, officials confirmed they had been notified of the former substitute's arrest. The district stated that Brady worked on and off as a temporary substitute at the high school. Temple ISD was first notified of the potential inappropriate relationships on April 22, 2026, by the Temple Police Department. The district immediately and permanently removed Brady from the substitute list and notified the Texas Education Agency (TEA) per reporting guidelines. The district emphasized that Brady was never a permanent employee of Temple ISD.
