Kolache Kitchen's History In Temple, Texas
According to FOX 44, Kolache Kitchen first opened in 1984. Over the years, many in the city have enjoyed the food offered. But, it's been tough for the business since 2024, when mother nature harmed the building.
In May of 2024, the Temple tornado severely damaged Kolache Kitchen. According to the owner Carol White:
“We survived the tornado. We were blessed. We had some, we lost a little [bit of the] roof. We needed a new roof...We lost our sign and had some hail damage, but we still had electricity, so we were fortunate enough to stay open to feel the people.

Thankfully, the business could stay open. But, in November of 2024, the building was hit again by weather, with powerful straight-line winds, causing its closure. Since then, many have wondered when it will finally reopen.
