JCPenney workers in Texas, sadly, will be searching for new jobs in November 2025. Recently, it was announced that a warehouse located in Haslet, will be shutting down. Here's what is known at the time of writing.

When Was It Announced The Warehouse Was Going Out Of Business?

According to USA Today, the announcement was made in earlier in the month of May. At the time of writing, a reason has not been given as to why the warehouse in Texas is shutting down. USA also obtained a statement from JCPenney that said the following:

"While this decision was difficult, it was necessary to build a stronger, more competitive company...We appreciate the contributions of all affected associates, who had been previously notified of our decision, and are committed to supporting them with transition resources, including severance and benefits."

The question now becomes who is affected by the closing of the warehouse.

Who Will Be Let Go Due To The JCPenney Warehouse Closure?

Per USA Today, the beginning of the layoffs will occur in August. From the 1st until 14th of the month, 42 workers will be let go. The next time it will happen is November, during the same time frame, resulting in 254 workers laid off.

According to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification workers who were laid off will not be allowed "...to assume positions that are already filled by other associates."
