I had the opportunity to meet Shanda at The Carlson Law Firm’s Ninth Annual Food Truck Rally for Veterans Day, and our conversation was absolutely astonishing. Shanda shared that her talent and passion for hair came at a very young age. As a child, her mother told her that she had “a gift in her hands,” which sparked the vision for her salon. But Shanda knew it would take more than just a dream—she had to take a journey. She did extensive research and made sure to enroll not only in cosmetology school but specifically in non-surgical hair-loss training. She has now been an expert in that field for 15 years and a hairstylist for 35 years.

She explained that although it is unfortunate that so many women struggle with hair loss due to mental illness, cancer, or other circumstances, she loves seeing her clients smile, feel good about themselves, and love their reflection in the mirror. Moments like these fill her with purpose and fulfillment.
