Drivers in Temple that take Midway Drive may want to be mindful of upcoming construction.

Starting Monday and for the next three months, construction will begin as workers repurpose the left-hand turn lane to an eastbound lane of traffic.

This effort is apart of The Bird Creek Interceptor Sanity Sewer Project.

After its completion, the aging sewer will have a new, larger line upgrading capacity to prevent future overflow.

According to a press release by the city of Temple, the current degraded sewer system allowing rainwater to seep in and put a burden on the wastewater collection system.

The construction zone is east of Bonham Middle School, so commuters are being warned to use caution, watch out for students, and obey all traffic warnings.
