Who Is Sasha Allen ?
Who is Sasha Allen and why should you care. ? Well if you have been watching the "Voice' the last few weeks including last night, you know she is a very talented singer from Harlem who has a chance to walk away with the title of the "Voice" this season. Sasha,the mother of two has made a career as a background singer for Grammy winners Alica Keys, Christina Aguilera,Usher,John Legend and pop star Leona Lewis.She has also played "Dionne" in the Tony Award winning revival of the hit Broadway show Hair: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical at the Al Hirschfield Theatre in New York City , and continued with the original American cast to the Gielgud Theatre on the West End in London and currently she is working with acclaimed choreographer and director Bill T. Jones on his new musical ,Superfly. Sasha was also the featured vocalist on Babyface's "Playlist" World Tour and has also worked with the likes of Patti Labelle,Yolanda Adams, Fantasia and country star Clint Black. With this resume and a voice that is so rich and powerful she has emerged as one of the one's to beat on this years show. Orginally a member of " Team Adam" she lost out in the battle round to Amber Carrington, but was given another chance when Shakira stole her and added her to her team and last night she advanced to the final ten as the last person chosen to continue next week( i'm sure that was done for TV DRAMA. Can she win I think so , but even if she doesn't I think she has proven herself and she is no longer just another background singer, she deserves to be out front and be heard.
