The countdown is on!

I know it's April Fool's Day, but I'm not joking about the upcoming Easter Sunday Verzuz battle between Earth, Wind, & Fire and The Isley Brothers hosted by My Kiss 103.1 Morning show host Steve Harvey with additional sounds by D-Nice.

The show starts at 7 PM Cenral, and you can watch it on the Verzuz TV Instagram page or Triller. Be sure to look up Verzuz TV.

A lot of my friends are leaning toward The Isley Brothers in the Easter Sunday Verzuz matchup.

I am going to be neutral with this battle, but full disclosure: I grew up listening to The Isley brothers.

They have been in the music industry since 1954, and one of the most known members, Ronald Isley, had a successful music career after the Isley Brothers perused other interests.

After I hurt myself in a pick-up game of basketball at the college I was attending, my college roommate lent me an extensive collection of The Isley Brothers' music catalog.

I would listen to his collection since I was stuck in the dorm room.

I found some songs that I had never heard from the band that I listen to this day.

I feel like the Isley Brothers have more love ballads than Earth, Wind, & Fire, and it'll be interesting to see if that factors into Sunday's battle.

I've gained a renewed respect and love for the Isley Brother's music as I've prepared for the big battle coming up.

I never had the opportunity to see them live in concert like many bands, including Earth, Wind, & Fire.

I am there for these legendary bands.

Whether you an Earth, Wind, & Fire fan or an Isley Brothers fan, this battle will be one for the books

Here are my Top 10 Isley Brothers songs. You can check out my list of best Earth, Wind, & Fire songs here.
