Killeen Seniors Are Getting A Second Chance at Prom Night This Month

It's time to grab your prettiest dress and your nicest suit, because the City of Killeen Parks and Recreation Department invites residents ages 55 and older to come out and enjoy a fantastic evening of dancing, fellowship, and music at the Senior Prom. The event will take place on Thursday, July 17, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Killeen Civic and Conference Center, located at 3601 S. W.S. Young Drive.

What Is The Theme Of This Year's Prom?

This year's theme is "Blooming Memories," inspired by cherry blossoms and glowing lanterns. It's an opportunity for our senior residents to enjoy an evening filled with fun, friendship, and beautiful memories. The event will feature a catered dinner, photo opportunities, raffle prizes, and the crowning of the Senior Prom King and Queen.

Kathryn Winston, Senior Center Manager for the Killeen Parks and Recreation Department, said, "This event is one of our favorite traditions because it allows our seniors to celebrate life's special moments together."

She went on to say, "Whether attending with a spouse, a friend, or on their own, we encourage everyone to come dressed to impress and enjoy an evening filled with connection and unforgettable memories."Walk-up admission will not be accepted. Due to limited seating, advance RSVP and tickets are required.
