According to KWTX, Tyler Claycomb was the Associate Director of Bands at Harker Heights High School. On the date of November 3rd, 2025, parents of students at the school were informed that Claycomb had been placed on administrative leave from the learning institution. The question then became why was Claycomb was put on administrative leave in first place.

Police from Killeen began inquiries in the situation, and discovered inappropriate images on his cellular phone. It is purported that these images had individuals that were school-aged. What isn't known at the time of writing is that if the photos were of students at the school.

Background Of Claycomb's Hiring And School Response To The Situation

Per KWTX, Claycomb did undergo a background check before being hired, and Killeen ISD stated that he "passed all required background checks before being hired." This reported situation began while he was employed, not before he was employed.

In a statement, KISD Superintendent Dr. King Davis said: “I want to thank the Harker Heights High School staff who raised concerns that brought this situation to light. Their vigilance reflects the shared responsibility we all have to keep our schools safe.”
