Memorial Day weekend for most of us is just another holiday and 3 day weekend. Far too often the meaning behind it gets lost. Memorial Day is a day for us all to remember the men and women who gave their all to defend our freedom in this country.

This Saturday March 25th, the city of Harker Heights will pay homage to those who made the ultimate sacrifice with its annual Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony beginning at 9:00 AM.

The parade starts rolling at 9:00 am starting at Wildewood Dr. and proceeding down FM 2410/Knight’s Way, turning right onto Miller’s Crossing and ending at Carl Levin Park located at 400 Miller’s Crossing.

The Memorial Ceremony will begin at 10:00 AM once the parade has ended at the Veteran’s Monument located in front of City Hall at 305 Miller’s Crossing. The ceremony will feature a traditional wreath laying to honor those who gave their lives. In case of rain, the parade will still continue as long as it is not a storm and the ceremony will move indoors to the Harker Heights Recreation Center, 307 Miller’s Crossing.

We'll be participating in the parade so if you see us give us a wave and say hi!
