I left out of the house early this morning thinking I'd make it to work on time, but the traffic on I-35 had other plans.

I'm thinking to myself wow there must have been an accident because as soon as you get to Belton on 190 the traffic slows down and sometimes completely stops.

Come to find out, there are lane closures slowing traffic down!

Last week TXDOT announced they will close the two inside northbound main lanes of I-14 between SL 121 and Central Avenue this week.

The on-ramps to SL 121, Holland Road, I-14 eastbound frontage road, and the inside eastbound inside main lane of I-14 closed Monday night (last night).

Tonight (Tuesday, July 20), starting at 7pm there will be a full freeway closure on the northbound main lanes of I-35 between SL 121 and Central Avenue.

TXDOT warns all drivers that all traffic will be directed to exit SH 317/Main Street (293A). The on-ramps for SL 121, Holland Road, and I-14 eastbound frontage road will be closed.

Additionally, the eastbound main lanes of I-14 will be closed, where all traffic
will be directed to exit Connell Street.

The I-14westbound exit ramp will also be closed.

Wednesday night, crews will close the two inside northbound main lanes of I-14 between SL 121 and Central Avenue.

a.m. the following morning.

TXDOT notes that their schedules are dependent on weather, field conditions and work progress. There will be signage in place to inform motorists of roadwork and traffic control operations.

Updates and information are posted regularly on TXDOTWACO's Twitter page.

Though these closures happen at night, the next morning you may have unexpected delays.

Plan accordingly!
