The case began when an incident involving the physical abuse of a six-year-old child was reported. This initial report led officials to a 10-year-old girl, who disclosed that Ramos had been inappropriately touching her. Another child then came forward, revealing years of sexual abuse, which helped build the case further. As the investigation progressed, additional victims from other states came forward, reporting that Ramos had sexually abused them when they were much younger. In total, four children reported both sexual and physical abuse, and the prosecution presented substantial evidence against Ramos.

Williamson County District Attorney Shawn Dick stated that Ramos had used a position of trust to commit heinous crimes against vulnerable children for years and that justice had finally been delivered. He added that the 90-year sentence handed down by the jury ensures Ramos will never again be able to harm a child in the community. Ramos will not be eligible for parole until he has served at least 30 calendar years of his sentence.
