Erykah Badu on Kendrick Lamar Romance Rumors: ‘It’s Not Always Betwixxx the Thighs’

Erykah Badu has been linked with some of the most creative rappers in the game - Andre 3000, Common, Jay Electronica and the D.O.C. But some are still wondering if the R&B queen ever hooked up with everyone’s favorite lyricist Kendrick Lamar.

Ever since K.Dot delivered the lines, "Um, well cutie, I like your bougie bootie / Come Erykah Badu me / Hell, let’s make a movie," on Kanye West's "No More Parties In L.A.,” folks have been speculating on whether Fat Belly Bella had a brief romance with the Compton kid.

For the record, Kendrick is engaged to his longtime fiancé Whitney Alford but that hasn’t stop the romance rumors from popping up.

Over the July 4th weekend, Badu addressed the romance rumors on her Twitter account in a series of tweets. According to the 45-year-old singer, nothing sexual happened between her and Kendrick.

Alluding to their exciting set at the 2013 BET Awards, Badu recalls Kendrick being "super shy" and meeting him only once at the event.

"Kendrick aint called me since y'all made up some s--- about us being in the trailer makin out so he missed his award," she tweeted.

When a fan on Twitter accused Badu of lying and insisting that they hooked up, she replied with a drop microphone-worthy tweet.

"It's not always betwixxx the thighs...Sometimes it's between the ears."

We have to agreed with Erykah Badu. Sometimes artists connect on a musical level without any sexual attachment involved. Although we are wondering why Kendrick hasn't called up Ms. Badu for a collaborative song. Hopefully, K.Dot will make the first move and bring her on his next project.
