San Antonio, Texas Trying To Stop A Person’s Dog From Biting Another Individual By Doing This
Everybody in the state of Texas loves seeing a dog when out and about. Most of the time, Texas dogs are very friendly and love getting a good pet, scratch, or perhaps even a treat. But not every dog is nice to people.
Sometimes, a dog can be violent to someone in the state of Texas. It may even attack the person if it feels threatened. In the city of San Antonio, Texas, there's been as many as 400 dig bites reported. Now, the city is making strides to hopefully stop them outright.
San Antonio, Texas And It's Issues With Dog Bites In The City
This problem has been plaguing the city of San Antonio for a long time, as News 4 San Antonio reported:
So, in an effort to prevent the issue from growing even more, new guidelines have been set by San Antonio, Texas. The main one that will hopefully curb the amount of bites the city sees is a large fine totaling $1,000 if someone's dog bites another person in the city of San Antonio, per the San Antonio Report. But, there's more included in the new rules.
What Are The Other Things Are Changing For Dog Owners In San Antonio, Texas?
The San Antonio Report also confirmed that fines for letting dogs roam free without a leash. According to the new rule, first time infractions are $100, second infractions will cost $500, and any one following that will be $750. District 8 councilman Manny Pelaez said of the changes:
“It’s the irresponsible dog owners in San Antonio who have brought us to this point of having to make these difficult decisions, of increasing these fines and forcing us to double down on our efforts to do what they refuse to do, which is take care of their dogs."
