Did You Lose A Large Amount Of Cash In Harker Heights?
When I first read about this story my first instinct was to get up and leave work for the day to see if I could claim this money but I'm sure whoever lost it needs it.
According to the Killeen Daily Herald, the Harker Heights Police Department found a container with a "large amount of U.S. currency" in the parking lot of a business and they are looking to return it to its rightful owner. However, HHPD would give no more specifics than that and if you are the rightful owner, you'll be expected to answer some questions from police before you can claim it.
“To claim this cash it will be necessary to provide an accurate dollar value of the money recovered, along with a description of the container and its contents. Failure to contact the Harker Heights Police Department within 90 days of the posting of this notice, shall result in this U.S. currency being disposed of in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas.” - HHPD press release via Killeen Daily Herald
If I may interject for a moment and say, please don't waste the HHPD's time by calling them and trying to "guess" what the amount is. If you have the answers to those questions you can contact Paul Carey, evidence custodian for the Harker Heights Police Department at 254–953–5486.
Now you may not be able to claim this money, but you can claim $5,000 in cold hard cash when Steve Harvey opens up his wallet again to giveaway some more Kiss Cash beginning Thursday November 8th.
