Boxing fans all over the world are waking up to the shocking news that Welterweight Champion Errol Spence Jr. was involved in a single car accident overnight in Dallas.

According to CBS DFW, Spence was driving his white Ferrari at a high rate of speed near downtown Dallas just before 3:00 AM when the vehicle went over the center median and flipped multiple times, ejecting the driver. Police say Spence was not wearing a seatbelt.

Spence was taken to the hospital in serious condition and is expected to survive. He remains in the ICU while the exact cause of the accident is still under investigation.

Hailing from nearby DeSoto, Texas, Spence is currently the undefeated (26-0) IBF and WBC Welterweight Champion.

The 2012 Olympian made his professional debut in November of 2012 and quickly rose through the boxing world to win the IBF title in 2017 which he has successfully held and defended for the last 2 years.

He picked up the WBC Welterweight belt in his most win against Shawn Porter on Sept. 28.

We send our thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery.
