Temple Police Investigating Traffic Accident Near Avenue M

We have been under a deluge of heavy rain over the last few days in Central Texas as fall appears to be making its way to our area, but the rain should serve as a reminder to be careful on the road.

We received word from Temple Police Wednesday about a traffic accident that is under investigation near West Avenue M and South 35th Street.

According to the press release from Temple PD Media Relations Specialist Cody Weems, a male driver left the roadway and struck a telephone pole before colliding with a house. The driver is in critical condition and no other injuries were reported at the time of this article.

Avenue M was closed to traffic in the area and if you're just reading this and headed in that direction, you are encouraged to take an alternate route. TPD went on to say that residents living in the area may experience power outages due to the pole being knocked down so be careful if you're in the area.
