Boy's Weight Loss Questioned By Doctor, Police Called

According to KWTX, the case began back on the date of August 27th, 2024. Law enforcement in Temple were alerted to a situation developing at McLane's Children's Hospital. Why police were summoned was due an alleged case of child neglect. Inquires began when police talked to a social worker.

Per the Social Worker, an unidentified 8 year old stated to them that they weren't allowed to eat some nights. Concerns were raised after the child was brought to hospital for a checkup in regards to the child's Cystic Fibrosis. However, the doctor discovered that child had lost 17% of their body weight, which was not brought about by the disease.

Further questioning of the boy revealed his loss of weight may have been caused by something completely different.

As the social worker continued to talk to the unidentified child, they revealed that sometimes they were allowed to partake in dinner, but not all of the time. In addition, the boy, by his own testimony, was also not allowed to eat when he was hungry. When the young child asked for a snack, the doctor caught Alicia Sophia Aguillon looking agitated to the boy being given food.

Aguillon revealed to the doctor that the child was leaving his home unattended to look through dumpsters. The boy was also questioned by Child Protective Services, where they told CPS he left the house to find something to eat when he wasn't allowed food, and a camera was located in his room to stop him from leaving.

Aguillon and Brown had two additional children, aged three and six. After CPS took the children from the home, the six year old revealed that the eight year old wasn't allowed to eat, and the investigator found the camera the eight year old was talking about.

Following the findings of the living quarters for the eight year old being a simple bed and one pillow, as well as malnutrition discovered in all three children, Aguillon and Brown was placed under arrest, taken to the Bell County Jail. There bonds are $30,000 for Brown and Aguillon for $40,000.

As this is a developing story, we will have more information when it becomes available.
