
Police Chase Ends Near Belton Schools: Suspect Taken Into Custody
According to Fox44, Joelson Joaquin Terraza has been arrested on multiple charges following an incident that occurred at two different Belton ISD campuses on Friday morning. The Temple man has been charged with criminal trespassing and evading arrest after leading police on a foot chase from the Leon Heights neighborhood to the front of New Tech High School.

Terraza already had two outstanding warrants — one for theft and another for criminal trespassing. Police stated that the arrest followed a report of suspicious activity. Around 8:05 a.m., a resident alerted authorities that a man was taking photos outside Leon Heights Elementary School.

When officers arrived and confronted Terraza, he fled through the neighborhood. He was eventually taken into custody near New Tech High School by multiple officers and school district security personnel. He has since been booked into the Bell County Jail. Belton Police Chief Larry Berg expressed his appreciation for the resident who reported the suspicious behavior. Berg added that the department will continue working closely with the community to keep Belton safe.
