ASAP Rocky Replaces Kanye West in Mary J. Blige’s New “Love Yourself” Video
Mary J. Blige is continuing to push her recently-released Strength of a Woman album, and she's made some switch-ups for her new set of visuals for her "Love Yourself" record. The fan favorite track originally featured a verse from Kanye West, but the "Glow Up" vocalist decided to recruit A$AP Rocky to take his place for the music video.
The Harlem rapper stars in the new visuals, spitting a brand new verse as he shows off his signature fashion runway style while posting up in a classy hotel room. The Queen of hip-hop soul provides some lavish scenes for herself as well, as she sits in the whip while surrounded by a slew of men dressed in Black Panther-esque ensembles.
Blige continues to sing her heart out while reflecting on her lost love and new beginning in a dimly-lit hotel room. We get a taste of the singer's sense of wealthy style, incorporating a bright red fur, as well a a stunning blue gown with a coat that reaches the floor. Both the veteran vocalist and hip-hop star eventually come together in the video, matching in all-black outfits for a black backdrop.
Despite the rockiness of her divorce this year from her longtime husband, Mary has been seeing more success with her new music. Her new album reached the No. 1 slot on the R&B album charts on Billboard, and also marks as the 20th entry of her career.
