We're celebrating Black Music Month here at Kiss-FM and we take a look back at a stellar debut album from Keyshia Cole called "The Way It Is" released a decade ago this week. We take a look back at this classic album which went on to sell over a million copies 2 months after it was released and is still Keyshia's biggest seller to date.

    "I Changed My Mind"

Keyshia's debut single produced by a then relatively unknown producer rapper you might recognize by the name of Kanye West had the ladies jumping and properly introduced Keyshia to audiences hungry for a new R&B diva to represent the streets.

"I Just Want It To Be Over"

Scorned ladies everywhere made this an anthem to get out of those terrible relationships. Produced by Krucial Keys who at the time was fresh off monster hits for Alicia Keys, this would be her second single that became a summer jam after its April 2005 release

    "I Should've Cheated"

After 2 hit singles, it was time to showcase Keyshia's slow jam side. While I find this song "petty", its still a great song and wonderfully produced.

    "Love"

With "I Should've Cheated" showcased her ability to create a great slow jam, but with "Love" it was power ballad time. Keyshia blows the roof off this song and became a major hit and quite possibly is her "signature" song.

    "You Changed"

A personal favorite of mine, Keyshia flips Jay-Z's "Song Cry" into a response to his song with this jam. While not "officially" released as a single, this song is still one of the more popular tracks from this album.
