Westfest, an annual event celebrating all things Czech has been canceled due to spiking cases in COVID-19.

According to a report from our news partners at KWTX, the organizers of Westfest have decided that is in the best interest of the public to cancel the event because of the possible spread of coronavirus.

Every year the event is held in West, Texas during the Labor Day weekend. Typically the festival boasts live music and entertainment, carnival rides and games, arts and crafts, plus delicious Czech food and drink.

There is even a Westfest parade that floats down the streets of West, but that won't be happening this year with the current limit on gatherings of over 100 people. The event usually sees about 20,000 guests and social distancing would be completely impossible.
