
Waco Man Arrested After Loaded Gun, Marijuana Found Near Four Children
20-year-old Waco man Qualon Weaver has been arrested after police found marijuana and a loaded firearm within reach of small children, according to an arrest affidavit reported by KWTX.

Weaver has been charged with endangering a child and possession of marijuana.

According to the affidavit, on August 29, officers from the Waco Police Department were dispatched to the 3000 block of Reuter Avenue to conduct a welfare check. Upon arrival, officers found a side door to the home open. After announcing their presence and receiving no response, they entered the property to perform a safety sweep.

During the search, officers observed marijuana scattered across a small table. A firearm was reportedly found on a bed, and a large cylinder bag was located on the bedroom floor with its top open. Inside, a clear bag containing a large amount of marijuana was visible. This evidence was later identified by Weaver’s sister, according to the affidavit.

This was described as a dangerous situation, as four children—all under the age of seven—were in the same area as the loaded firearm and accessible marijuana. Officers noted that the firearm had ammunition and could have easily been reached by a child. The marijuana, which was also within reach of the children, weighed approximately 5.99 ounces, including its packaging. As of now, there is no bond set for Weaver.
