Waco Police Arrest Man Who Allegedly Threatened to ‘Mow Down’ Bystanders
A Waco man, John Paul Cardona, has found himself in serious trouble after he was arrested Tuesday night for allegedly threatening his girlfriend and others with a rifle, according to KWTX.

Police were called to a home in the 1000 block of South 15th Street on Tuesday evening in response to a disturbance that involved a firearm. When officers arrived at the scene, Cardona was sitting in his truck before he could drive away, according to the affidavit.
What Did The Ex-Girlfriend Have To Say?
A woman who spoke with police said Cardona was her ex-boyfriend and had come to her uncle’s house to retrieve his belongings from her car. She explained that she had been working with his mother to return his belongings and told him he needed to leave. When he refused, he went to the back of the house, and she followed to speak with him, the affidavit states.
The Violent Language Used in the Recent Waco Arrest
Police said the two argued about the belongings, and during the altercation, Cardona allegedly pulled out an AR-15-style rifle and held it at his side. Witnesses told police that Cardona stated he would “mow down anybody and anything.” He also allegedly said, “I just blew up a house,” according to the affidavit.
What Has Cardona Been Charged With?
As a result of the incident, Cardona has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, family violence, and a second-degree felony. Authorities also noted he had been involved in a related case involving a woman within the previous 24 hours. Police believe the rifle was used to intimidate his ex-girlfriend and others in an attempt to retrieve his belongings.
