The students at Vintage Christian Academy wanted to help their nine-year-old classmate, Jazmyne Guillen, a third grader, pay for her medical expenses. Their efforts not only helped cover her medical costs, but also came with a fun reward — the opportunity to shave their principal’s head.

Students from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade eagerly waited until Friday to witness the big event. That’s when they learned the total amount raised and watched Principal Robert “Coach” Bacon have his head shaved in front of the cheering crowd.

Principal Bacon shared that throughout the day, students kept reminding him of what was about to happen, saying, “Do you know this is going to happen to you later?” Although Jazmyne couldn’t attend the ceremony in person due to her treatments, she joined via FaceTime to watch the event. She learned that more than $7,000 had initially been raised for her cause — a total that later reached $15,554.66.
