Updated Closures for Central Texas
Winter Storm Landon left lots of icy conditions in Central Texas resulting in many closures.
The good news is that many schools and city and county offices planned ahead and closed early in preparation of the reported icy conditions that were expected.
As of Wednesday, closures were being announced for Thursday with the hopes of being back to normal for Friday. As conditions never improved on Thursday evening, and the forecast showing freezing temps in the overnight, the decision to stay closed for Friday became the smart and safe thing to do.
Overall, many of the same closures for Thursday are in place for Friday including school districts, government buildings, city and county offices and military establishments including Fort Hood.
