Trees For Troops Is Giving Free Christmas Trees To Fort Hood, TX Soldiers This Weekend
FORT HOOD, Texas — If you're like me and haven't had the time to hit up the tree farms, or you just don't have the money to spring for a real Christmas tree this year, Trees For Troops has you covered.
WHEN TO COME GET YOUR TREE
Trees For Troops will have hundreds of trees to give to Fort Hood Soldiers and DoD cardholders this year. Trees will be given out to ranks E-1 - E-4 first, beginning Friday, Dec. 9 at 10am, at the Phantom Warrior Stadium. Ranks E-5 and above, and all other DoD cardholders, pick-up times are from Noon until all trees are gone.
ABOUT TREES FOR TROOPS
Trees for Troops, a program of the Christmas Spirit Foundation, provides farm-grown Christmas Trees to members in all branches of the U.S. military and their families for free. This initiative is made possible through donations, sponsorships, grants, and the work of many volunteers.
THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
Trees will be given out on a first come, first served basis, and while supplies last. Anyone coming to grab a tree must present a valid military identification card at the time of pick-up. You also need to come prepared to load your own tree and have your own tie-down ropes or string. One tree per household only.
I'd love to see your tree all decorated and lit up. Download our free app here. Upload and submit your pic, and I will share it on our Facebook page. I sure hope I can get down there in time to pick one up.
K-Lew out!
