Police in the state of Texas are currently looking into as to why political signs supporting Kamala Harris have recently been found with intimidating messages on them. Here's what is known at the time of writing.

Reports Of The Signs Being Defaced With The Messages

Reports about the issue came from KXAN, where it was revealed that Kamala supporters in the state alerted police to the messages. Police in San Marcos took to social media to show what the threat in question appeared as:

San Marcos Police Responds, Vowing To Find Whomever Responsible

Stan Standridge. the police chief of the San Marcos Police Department said the following to KXAN:

“We’re trying to identify the scope of how many flyers have been disseminated across San Marcos...We have already notified the FBI, and that we’ve also notified the regional fusion centers—both Southwest [Texas] Fusion center and the Austin Regional Intelligence Center.”

In addition, Standridge also revealed that “It’s a crime in the state of Texas to try to influence or coerce or even prevent a voter from voting...When we identify the suspect or suspects, then we will present that to the district attorney’s office for consideration of applicable charges.”

Police have stated that if one in the area of San Marcos spots of the threats, they should not remove it. They should instead contact San Marcos police at 512-753-2108 for further investigation. As this is a developing story, we will have more information when it becomes available.
