I’m all about finding the hidden gems in Central Texas, and I was a little surprised when I found this amazing spot that I've just been driving right by every Sunday. I am so I finally stopped and tried it. The Shack Caribbean Seafood and Grill located at 1612 East FM 2410 Road in Harker Heights, Texas is a must-try if you’re looking for great food, good vibes, and the sweetest customer service.

The menu alone looks just delicious. What I like about The Shack is that the food you're served looks exactly how it appears in the picture. What you see is what you get, and it’s filled with amazing flavors that you can taste in every single bite. Military veteran Javier Munoz, wife Sharon, and daughter Natasha have brought a unique culinary style to Central Texas that I feel everybody will truly enjoy.

This couple graduated with culinary arts degrees, and their skills definitely shine through in every meal.

The mussel and fish tacos in particular were recommended to me by someone who frequents The Shack. Trust me: you've got to try them.

Since opening in, The Shack 2017 and also won multiple Killeen Plate Awards, and they have great social media word-of-mouth thanks to the excellent food and customer service. Now this delicious hidden gem is getting the attention that they definitely deserve.

I wanted to write an article on this establishment so I can share the goodness with folks out there who, like me, have passed this place and been curious about going in. Once you try it, you'll definitely be going back for more and more of the fantastic food.
