One of Texas' most wanted sex offenders was recently arrested in Kansas.

In a news release issued Tuesday afternoon, the Texas Department of Public Safety reported that 27-year-old Bill Don Urango was arrested in Wichita, Kansas on February 26 thanks to a tip submitted to Crime Stoppers. (A tip that netted $5,000.)

Urango was wanted for violating parole and failing to register as a sex offender. According to DPS authorities, he'd been on the run since June of 2017, when he absconded from his last known address in Dallas.

It was important that officials know where Urango was because of a 2010 conviction of aggravated sexual assault of a child and indecency with a child-sexual by contact after an incident in Grayson County involving an 11-year-old boy. He also has a history of exposing himself to children, according to DPS records.

Thanks to an anonymous tipster, Urango is back behind bars.
