Texas Gospel Legend Kirk Franklin Drops New Video “Strong God”

After last night's uplifting VERZUZ battle between Texas Gospel legends Kirk Franklin and Fred Hammond, Franklin announced that he would be dropping a new video dedicated to first responders who are on the frontlines battling the coronavirus pandemic.

But first, let's look back at the battle of hits between these two icons. After some inspiring words from Bishop T.D. Jakes, the gospel legends who were in the same studio, ran through a litany of their uplifting hits over a span of several hours.

Wearing t-shirts that say "I Can't Breathe Again.." one of the highlights during the battle was when Wanda Cooper-Jones, the mother of Ahmaud Arbery, joined the session and the gospel legends offered her words of encouragement as she also thanked everyone across the country for their support.

It was truly a beautiful night of great gospel music. Definitely "the healing" we needed over this weekend as Americans cry out for justice. Check out the playlist of songs they played in the battle last night below.
