Technology is continuously growing around us in Texas. Items once believed to be very difficult have now become simpler and easier to handle thanks to its growth. But with growth comes uncertainly also.

All of us have seen how big the usage of AI has gotten. Some of us use it to assist in finding the right word for sentence, to it writing entire paragraphs on one certain subject. It's also been used for nefarious means, and that has concerned some in the state.

Because of this, a new bill has been put forth in the Texas legislature to try and make sure things don't get too out of hand with the new technology.

What Does The New Bill Regarding AI In Texas Aim To Do?

According to the Dallas Business Journal, the bill was proposed by Representative Giovanni Capriglione. Here's what is proposed:

- Ensure that AI systems used for content moderation are transparent, unbiased, and accountable, safeguarding free speech and preventing censorship of lawful political discourse.

- Establish guidelines to prevent bias, discrimination and misuse of AI technologies.

- Promote education and training to prepare Texans for the AI-driven economy.

- Require companies using AI to disclose their use of AI systems and "ensure explainability in their processes."

- Strengthen safeguards for personal data used in AI systems.

Also revealed by Dallas Business Journal is that Texas is leading the way for AI as well. At the time of writing, it remains to be seen if this bill will pass. As this is a developing story, we will have more information when it becomes available.

Retro to Robo-Santa: AI visualizes what Santa looks like through the ages

Utilizing Freepik’s AI image generator, AI was asked to visualize what Santa looks like in the past and present, and what jolly old St. Nick might look like in years to come.

From a classic, retro Santa to an 80s action star, a 2000s boy bander, a hipster, a woman, and a futuristic robo-Santa, Freepik’s visualizations know no bounds when it comes to what Santa may have looked like and could look like. (Is it weird that I find some of these Santa’s attractive? YIKES!)
