66.91% of 2,460 Temple voters favored a measure that will increase the district’s tax rate by 8 cents per $100 property valuation to $1.12. Taxpayers with a home valued at $100,000 will pay an additional $6.67 per month in taxes, which will amount to around $80 annually. The additional tax revenue will fund the maintenance and operations portion of the district’s budget.

The district will receive an additional $2.89 million in annual revenue as a result of the tax increase, which it says will be used to upgrade science and library facilities, bolster the fine arts program, enhance career and technology education programs and purchase new technology and buses among other proposed improvements.
