Temple Laundromats Offering Free Service Tuesday and Wednesday
The City of Temple has teamed with two local laundromats to provide free laundry service for those in need today and Wednesday.
City Public Relations Coordinator Cody Weems confirmed the partnership Tuesday morning.
"Yes, as part of its continued winter storm recovery efforts, the City of Temple will make laundry facilities available at no cost Tuesday and Wednesday for residents who may not have laundry access," Weems wrote in a reply to a request for information. "Detergent will be provided while supplies last."
The following Temple laundromats are participating:
Tuesday, Feb. 23
1601 E. Adams
Hours: 6:30 a.m. – 9:30 p.m.
Wednesday, Feb. 24
10 Olaf Drive
Hours: 7 a.m. – 9 p.m.
If you have your own detergent, I'd encourage you to take it with you so those without can have access to the detergent being offered by the City of Temple. Also, please only take advantage of this service if you're truly in need of the help. Some of our friends and neighbors here in Temple are still without water due to winter storm damage or are otherwise hurting during the recovery.
Meanwhile, water service has resumed across Copperas Cove, and Stage 4B water conservation restrictions have been lifted. However, residents in the Mountain Top Pressure Plane remained under a boil water notice Tuesday.
Killeen lifted its water restrictions Monday as well, advising citizens Monday afternoon that normal water usage can resume.
The City of Belton announced at 9:13 AM Tuesday that Stage 5 Drought Restrictions had been lifted after conservation efforts by the good people of Belton and repairs of leaks helped get water levels back to normal.
