HARKER HEIGHTS WANTS YOU TO STAY WARM
For the next couple of days going into the weekend, Central Texas may find itself with lots of ice and snow. Even though some Texans are excited about the potential weather change, some are not. We have to keep in mind that there are several homeless people here in Central Texas, a lot of people who lost their lights and electricity because of the weather, and some just don’t have a place to go.
According to the City of Harker Heights, if the weather is forecasted to have severe cold temperatures approaching Sunday, which is January 14 through Wednesday, the 17th, there will be warming centers in Harker Heights. The facilities will allow individuals to have access to a dry environment, restrooms, facilities, and even water fountains. Residents of Harker Heights can go to the Central Firestation lobby at 401 Indian Trail for the warming center first and the secondary warming center will be located at the police station lobby at 402 Indian Trail. There will be sleeping, cots, and hygiene kits. If you have any other questions, you are suggested to contact the city of Harker Heights stay warm out there, Texas.
