Recently, in a social media group called “Coming to Texas,” a post announced that Dave’s Hot Chicken, a fast-casual restaurant chain specializing in delicious Nashville-style hot chicken tenders and sliders, is on its way to Killeen. This is really something to get excited about because you’ll no longer have to drive all the way to Austin or even Waco to get your Dave’s Hot Chicken fix. You’ll be able to enjoy it right here in the comfort of your own city.

Why Is Dave's Hot Chicken Perfect Food, Good Eats, and Content?

This is also perfect news for my foodies and content creators who create food-related content. Everyone who knows about Dave’s Hot Chicken knows about the Reaper Challenge, where individuals try one of the restaurant’s hottest chicken tenders. Keep in mind, though, that anyone who wants to take on the challenge has to sign a physical waiver before eating a Reaper-level chicken tender or slider. Millions of people on YouTube and TikTok have given the challenge a try, and now Killeen residents will have the opportunity to do the same.

When Is The Potential Opening Date And Location?

As of right now, the completion date is set for June 7, 2027. The restaurant will be located at 2801 E. Central Texas Expressway, and the project is expected to include a 2,598-square-foot tenant finish-out and a standalone building. I can’t wait to see how many people not only get to enjoy Dave’s Hot Chicken but also take on the Reaper Challenge.
