The Department of Homeland Security is advising people in Western nations that Russian hackers could launch cyberattacks aimed at organizations both big and small, and could target crucial infrastructure. They've done it before, and sometimes quite effectively. We all remember the big pipeline hack here in the U.S. last year, and officials worry more Russian cyberattacks could be in the works because of the negative economic impact on Russia since nations united to punish them financially for the invasion of Ukraine.

Energy companies and state regulators could be targets, but DHS is also advising leaders at both big and small businesses to make sure their cybersecurity is up to date. They've released a list of recommendations to help state and private entities prepare for potential trouble.
