Over the last few years we've seen the "reboot" become a new Hollywood staple, and this time some of Black Hollywood's best actresses are teaming up to "re-imagine" one of TV's greatest sitcoms.

According to ScreenRant, Regina King will be leading an all star and all Black cast in a special "reading" of "The Golden Girls" as part of the "Zoom Where It Happens" event presented by Mobilize.

Legendary actress Alfre Woodard will play Dorothy, "Black-ish" star Tracee Ellis Ross will play Rose, "Love & Basketball" actress Sanaa Lathan will play Blanche,  and Regina King will play Sophia. Lena Waithe will be the host of the event being directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood.

The reason for the special is encourage you to get out and vote and be active in this year's election. According to the description on Mobilize:

In an effort to further engage our community and drive change, all you need to do to enjoy this evening is sign up to receive messages about how you can make a change during this election! This event is in partnership with Zoom, and the first episode is spotlighting and supporting Color of Change - the nation's largest online racial justice organization. - Mobilize
