Residents of the Forum Apartments have reached out to 25 News, according to KXXV, to share their troubling experiences with unresolved maintenance issues. Residents in the community say they feel ignored and unheard, and as a result, conditions have deteriorated to the point where living there has become a nightmare.

Killeen Residents "Trapped by Rats" Amidst Code Violations

Although this Killeen  Apartment complex promotes itself as a place for "comfortable living and relaxation," residents say the reality tells a very different story. What’s especially concerning is the contrast between the community's frustration and the management's claims of providing "outstanding customer service."

KXXV spoke with tenant Melissa Kelly, who shared her concerns during a walk-through of her apartment. She pointed out what appeared to be rat droppings and rat holes filled with insulation. Kelly explained that she has repeatedly tried to keep the rodents out by blocking off access points, but her efforts have not been enough.

Rats and Red Flags: Killeen Apartment Complex Issues

She said she first noticed signs of rats and debris last year and reported the issue to her Salvation Army caseworker. Melissa is part of a housing program through a Bell County nonprofit organization. She expressed that she didn’t want to move—acknowledging that moving is stressful and disruptive—but simply wants the problems addressed.
