Recently, a Texas couple lost a child due to the measles outbreak, according to Chron. Texans have been advised that if they experience symptoms of measles and it is confirmed that they have the virus, they should see a doctor immediately and possibly take the vaccine for the virus. However, the family of the child who passed away has expressed strong opposition to this approach. The parents stated that their child not only had measles but also developed breathing difficulties and pneumonia. Once the child was taken to the hospital, she was placed on life support before passing away. Despite this, the parents continue to advise against receiving the vaccine.

The mother of the child stated, "Do not do the shot. The doctors that can help with measles aren’t as bad as they’re making them out to be." She also mentioned that her other children contracted measles after the death of their sister and recovered without the vaccine. The parents have been very adamant about not allowing any vaccines for their other children.
With over 300 cases now reported in Texas, 40 patients have already been hospitalized. Texans are left wondering if there will be more deaths due to the measles outbreak.
